Today is the deadline to enter the race for Congress to succeed retiring Representative Anna Eshoo, and it’s a crowded field. There are about a dozen people running to represent parts of the Peninsula and Silicon Valley in the 16th District in Congress in a really compressed campaign; they had to decide to run within the last two weeks, and there are just twelve weeks until the primary in March when the top two will survive and move on to November. We’ve already interviewed three of these new candidates on this program, and today and tomorrow we will talk with two more.
In today's edition of The State of California, KCBS Radio news anchor Megan Goldsby and KCBS political reporter Doug Sovern spoke with Peter Dixon of Portola Valley, a 40-year-old Marine Corps veteran and Silicon Valley entrepreneur who served in the State Department under Hillary Clinton and is one of the candidates for Rep. Eshoo's seat.
