We all have different impressions of what makes a good leader, even what makes the 

best church leaders. While we may advocate for the appointment of leaders based on a variety of abilities, talents, or skills, we may be inclined to advocate for those who don’t actually qualify. In this passage, we learn what God’s priorities are in the selection of Elders in the local church.
