Speaker 2 (00:45):
Back with another episode here to help you close more deals, generate more leads and more referrals and dominate in the solar industry. Hope you're doing well today. We've got a little bit different episode and I'm going to go through a program that I just completed. Um, actually at the time of this recording, I have two more days left. Okay. But I am planning on completing it, I guess, a Dane a quarter. So that program, if you've been listening to the previous episodes, I brought it up a few times already and it's something that I highly recommend. So I'm going to tell you my experience with it, my hesitations going into it, um, actually thought about doing for doing it for probably over a year now, but finally got around to doing it. So I'm telling my hesitations in experience and what I overall just gained from going through it.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Okay. So that program I'm going to talk about is called 75 Hard. And a lot of you have probably heard of it. It is pretty popular and a lot of people post about on Tik TOK, social media, a lot of people have gotten great results with it. Um, you know, sales guys at helps a lot of different benefits, so I'm going to jump into it. Okay. So first of all, I heard about this program from a few friends, her, I guess, coworkers, people that I have sold with for awhile. Um, some of the guys that first got me in the industry actually told me about it. My first buddy that did hit his name is Dallin. He's actually been on the show Dallin Pancheri, probably about 50 episodes ago. You can go back and listen to him, but he told me about this program.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
He went through it and what it is, if you're not familiar with it is for 75 days straight, you have to follow a checklist of specific items. And if you miss even one thing on this checklist, you go back to day zero. So the things you have to follow is you have to do two workouts a day. They have to be 45 minutes. Each you have to take a progress picture. You have to read 10 pages, you have to drink a gallon of water. You have to follow a specific diet you can't have any cheat meals or alcohol. So that's the program. And honestly sounds, I mean, somewhat simple, probably a lot of you are doing these things already. So I'm thinking of, okay, workout, um, read a few pages, drink some water. It doesn't sound like that. I can be away now, but the key with all this, and I found this out pretty quickly, it's that you have to be ultra consistent.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Like I said, if you miss even one thing on there, you're going back to D zero. Right? So that's the key with it. And then the other thing is you can make it as strict or as easy as you want. Okay. I mean, obviously I'm more applying do the workouts and the diets. Okay. Cause he doesn't specify what type of workouts you have to do. He doesn't specify which diet you have to follow. So when I first heard about this program, my friend, Dallin, he did a diet where he didn't eat any sugar for 75 days. Okay. And by no sugar, I mean, he, even if it had a gram of sugar, he's not eating it. His, so you look at most things have sugar in them right. Right. Um, so yeah, I mean any food label, not even a gram of sugar, he's like, no, not eating it.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
So it got super annoying. We've been hanging out with Dallin and you know, going out on a Saturday night, getting some food or he'd be like, no, we can't go here. Everything has sugar in it. Um, you know, any, any meal we made them, we'd invite them over for dinners, for food and stuff like that. And he'd be like, Nope, can't eat that would have a teaspoon of ketchup. And it had some sugar he'd turn it down. So when I first saw him go through this, I'm like, man, what a drag. I'm not going to do that. So that was one of my, I guess, reasons for being hesitant. He took this thing to an extreme and this kid tortured himself. He got great results. He lost a ton of weight, which yeah. More power to him. So he can, you can take it, like I said, as strict or as easy as you want, he took a strict.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
So when I got around to finally doing this challenge, I, you know, learn the rules a little bit better. So that was my, one of my reasons for not wanting to do it. Um, initially is I'm like, I'm not going to torture myself like that. Maybe the other thing is, um, with the workouts, you have to do them twice a day, every day, right? So no breaks, no weekends, um, of rest, you have to do every single day. And for me, I go, you know, I'm going to church every Sunday. I try to take Sundays off, just relax, hang out with family, go to church. Um, you know, keep the Sabbath day Holy like the teachers at church, which for me means no way contends workouts or anything. So that was another one of my excuses. Another one of my reasons I'm like I can't do, um, I'm not going to go to the gym on Sunday, do a hard workout.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
But then as I learned more again, you can make this as easy or as hard as you want. So here's what I did. I would work out hard, um, almost every day, but Sundays I would just do, um, walks typically or we we'd go play disc golf. We like the Frisbee off, out here in San Diego. If you ever here hit me up, I'll take you to go play some, a disc golf. That's what we did. So we went on our walks and we adjusted at that way. When I say we, I did it with my wife, which was a cool, um, definitely a cool experience. Um, so I would suggest doing it with someone. If you want to jump into this program, definitely makes it easier to keep yourself accountable and um, yeah. Have more fun. You're spending time with someone for us. We actually spent way more time together because we're noon while these workouts and a drink and water, we felt the same pains.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Okay. So anyways enough about the program, I want to go over just a few benefits, things that I experienced as I went through all, um, this entire program. Okay. So number one, um, before I started 7,500 and I still struggle with this, um, but I was what Andy Frisella the creator of this program, 75 Hard. He refers to this type of person as a success zombie. So what a success is on B, is it someone that goes to all the seminars, buys, the books, buys all the coaching programs, um, you know, invest in himself, but doesn't actually apply anything they're doing. So we've all seen these people. You go to Tony Robbins seminar as you see people that just show up at the same events, but they're not really making progress. These people are success zombies. And that was me to a T still is, um, to a degree I'm trying to improve on this.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Okay? But you don't want to be a success zombie. You want to invest in yourself, but you want to be really putting, you're making sure your investments are helping you improve and applying the principles you're learning. So what I like about 75 Hard is it's black and white. You either do it or you don't can. The program doesn't cost anything. I mean, he has an app. You can download. He has a book which we bought all those things they're cheap and helps him be more committed with it. But the point of all this is, is to help you actually apply what you learned in the program. So to apply, to be a doer, not just the talk, but actually do the things, because guess what, if you don't do the things you're going back to day zero. So this was one of the biggest benefits that I experienced is I'm like, okay, there's no middle ground here.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
You either do it. Or you don't, Hey, I will get to the weekends. Like I was mentioning weekends. A lot of times I would take, um, you know, breaks from workouts. I would always do workouts before 75 Hard, but weekends were my relaxing time. Right? Same thing with all these other items. I was, you know, reading books. Most days I was drinking water. I was following the diet, but we can hit all those things, go out the window. Okay. I would never read on weekends. Um, I would sleep in super late. Um, well at least Sundays Saturdays I got. And so, um, but yeah, no way was I read no way. Was I worrying about it eating clean? No way. Was I worried about reading a book? Cause Saturdays, weekends, you know, I wasn't thinking of all those things. So the program forced me to actually think, okay, I need to make improvements even on a weekend.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Okay. Just because it's a weekend. I don't need to let everything go out the window. So that's another cool thing experienced in, as I've gone through this, just sort of two, three extra days where I'm doing the things that I didn't, um, normally do them. I, yeah, it was pretty cool to see the changes. I mean, just from reading a book every day or sorry, 10 pages every day I got through I think five different books, which that's yeah, that was crazy to me. Like, and it didn't feel like a large amount. I mean, I would read about 10 minutes a day is how long it took me to read 10 pages. So it wasn't long, but just adding in the weekends, reading where I never was, I got through, I flew through books and it's just those little changes. If you've read the compound effect or the book, the slight edge, it talks about this, these little compound effects, these things you're doing there are, there are the things that are going to skyrocket you to success to the next level.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
So that's the point of all this. And that's a huge benefit that I experienced, forced me to do those little things, even on weekends or even on days where I wasn't used to doing them. And we took a few little mini vacations in the past 75 days. Um, but yeah, even in these vacations, we went up North to Sequoia national park. Okay. It was like, I think 10 o'clock at night when we pulled into the Airbnb, we rented. If we're with my wife's family, guess what we started worked out to do. So we're up in this tiny town, um, feels like we're going to get murdered out there and we're out there walking and jogging on these streets, out in the middle of nowhere because we had to get it done. And same thing. Saturday nights had a few late selling weekends, got home people or, um, you know, usually we get together with some friends, things like that.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
And I'm like, Nope, got to do a workout. Luckily here in San Diego. Um, weather's good. So I didn't probably take it to the extreme, like some people, if you're doing this up in Alaska or I don't know, Northern Idaho or something, you got my respect Montana. It's probably freezing if you're doing this, especially in the winter. So we took it easy with the weather. We get spoiled with the weather. Okay. That's the first thing. That's the first big thing just made me make and keep my commitments to myself. Okay. So that's what you're going to experience. If you choose to go through 75 Hard, number two, it gave me confidence. Hey, and anyone will say, this has gone through the program. You feel great while you're doing it. Okay. You're following a diet for me. My diet wasn't super strict. I was just cutting out the desserts and I was cutting out fried foods.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Okay. So I'll admit I could have been probably a little better with the diet. I did lose 20 pounds. So happy with that, um, was definitely getting my dad Bonnie on a little bit heavy, but it did give me awesome confidence to see the weight dropping off, um, making and keeping the commitments to myself, waking up earlier, schedule my time better. You feel great. What I realized is that those little things, they have a direct correlation with what you're doing on the doors. Hey, you should know, by now, if you're out knocking doors free out selling your results are heavily correlated with what's going on in your personal life. That's why it's so important to take care of your body, to be drinking water, to be doing these little things, because it's going to show up in your sales. Hey, and my sales has definitely improved.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
I didn't work harder, but just by doing these things, I definitely got more sales than I was doing. Okay. I was closing, um, you know, a lotta, lotta, um, referrals, a lot of, uh, leads, you know, we have kind of a setter program, get some leads from, um, you know, online, things like that but during 75 Hard this past month, I was happy to close. Um, let's see. I think it's been eight, eight, eight deals now. And just from knocking doors, which for me, that was awesome. Okay. I don't know if some were heavy hitters you're out there. You're closing peer yourself. Jen's out there. And for you, maybe that's my being an average month, but for me, eight, eight deals from my own knocking out here in San Diego, I was pretty happy with that.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
And guess still got a few more days left in the month, but felt great. Confidence was at an all time high because I was making keeping commitments to myself. And then the last benefit that I experienced is it made me be more efficient with my time. Hey, there's a lot, if you haven't heard of this, it's the Parkinson's law. Parkinson's law is, is it's you, um, your work expands. So as to fill the time available for its completion. So in other words, you're going to get work done in the amount of time you have. Hey. So, um, for me, that just meant I have less time now I'm doing two separate workouts. That's the other thing in 75 Hard, you have to do two separate 45 minute workouts. So you can't do one 90 minute workout. You have to do one workout and then you have to wait at least three hours before you do a second workout.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
So that meant either I was getting up really early and then doing two workouts in the morning or for me since I usually get up like seven 30, which isn't super early, another thing I'm trying to improve for me, that meant I did a workout in the morning and then usually a workout at night. Okay. So what I, what I had to do is just be way more efficient with my time. And again, I wasn't working harder. I was closing more deals. I was having more success out there, but it's because it is, I was forced to be more efficient with my time. And now in the five or six hours that I was out there, um, producing generating leads, knocking doors in deals. I was using my time more efficiently. I'm like, all right, I gotta do another workout. I don't have as much time I'm going to be reading my, uh, you know, 10 pages doing these extra couple of things.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
And so I need to be ultra efficient with my time. Okay. And that's another thing that I saw a huge benefit from before I would go out and I was working, but yeah, sometimes social media would creep in sometimes. Um, I would let myself, uh, I'm just gonna, uh, maybe call some people then I'll be out on the doors in like 30 minutes. I'm gonna call some referrals. I'm going to just check on my other accounts. No, so what I did is I set a strict schedule for myself. I said, okay, once the clock hits two, I'm either knocking on a door or I'm going to be in a deal for sure. Hey, I can do the followups. I can do the account management. And other time, once the clock strikes too, I gotta be out there generating leads or making myself money, closing a deal.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Okay. So that's a few of the benefits. I experienced it again. I highly recommend it. Go do 75 Hard. If you haven't and I'll post follow me on social media, I'm going to post my before or after pictures. Okay. Don't be expecting the six pack or anything, but lost 20 pounds feel great and hoping I can carry this momentum into the future because that's the point of this is 75 Hard. You keep that momentum going. Okay. So for me, I'm not going to do two separate workouts anymore. That's the one thing that I didn't want to continue. So now I'm going to do my workouts, but just maybe do a longer, maybe do an hour to an hour and a half workout and keep it in one little chunk. But besides that it's awesome program. So go try it out and would love to see your results.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
If you decide to try it, or if you've already gone through it, send me your before and after. Love to check those out and little bit different episode, but hope you, um, took something from it. If anything start to be consistent and whatever you're doing, even if you don't do a program like 75 Hard, give yourself a checklist and see how many days you can do all those things. See if you can continue them even on weekends. Because for me, that was what made a big difference. It's being consistent with some little things. So go out and try it love to hear from you. And we'll see you on the next show.
