The attempted recall of Governor Newsom was supposed to unite the state GOP. Instead, the campaign and the results seemed to stoke and expose the divisions within the California Republican party.
Yet the GOP brand nationally is different than that within California as Republicans look past the recall and towards their fortunes next year.
