• Platforms like Apple podcasts and Stitcher are controlled by algorithms, so your overall ranking and algorithm include rankings and reviews. 
• Podcast reviews also influence social proof. Low ratings repel, and higher ratings attract. You need your cheerleaders to raise you up. When one person acknowledges your greatness, others naturally start to see it as well. It gives you a prequalified authority without having to prove it.
