California is in line for tens of billions of dollars in federal funds to address infrastructure needs. This will start with a $120 million dollar allotment, primarily
for transportation, including projects across the Bay Area. Governor Newsom named former Los Angeles mayor and Assembly Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa as his infrastructure czar to advise the governor and help identify the best projects to receive all that money.
As part of that process, Mayor Villaraigosa is touring California to meet with local
officials. This week he's in the Bay Area for a couple of days of those meetings.
For more, KCBS Radio political reporter and host of this segment, Doug Sovern, spoke with Mayor Villaraigosa.
