Punjabi Revolutionary Poet Avtar Singh Sandhu 'Pash' (9 September-23 March 1988) was born in a middle class peasant family in village Talwandi Salem, distt. Jallandhar (Punjab). His father Sohan Singh Sandhu, who was a soldier, used to compose poetry. Pash is one of the major poets of Naxalite Movement. In 1972 he started a magazine named 'Siar' and in 1973 founded 'Punjabi Sahit Te Sabhiachar Manch.
