The Higher and the Lower Laws show us that the "treasure" to be found in Salem, Massachusetts was not a physical treasure, but the spiritual treasure of souls. The Doctrine of Christ is outlined through submission and humility, to lower oneself and to be exalted by God. This is represented by the Tree of Life in Lehi's Dream. Those that raise themselves up will fall. They are represented by the Great and Spacious Building.
