  1. The 1976 draft was an oddity, it had five Ohio high school players taken in the first round. One by the Guardians, one who was drafted by the Guardians, and one who would be one of the better first basemen in the National League.
  2. We focus on the day two picks, and while the Guardians didn’t find any success in the top ten rounds many teams did. Players like Alan Trammell, Ozzie Smith, Wade Boggs, Jack Morris, and Ricky Henderson among others make this a great draft for the Tigers in particular.
  3. We end with the greatest 18th round pick in franchise history. A player I wish the Guardians had now, and an underrated performer in general. Ron Hassey gets his time to shine.
