The Excellence of Execution, Carter Hart, stopped all 29 of the Montreal Canadiens' shots to give himself his second consecutive playoff shutout, as well as the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-1 series lead in this opening round matchup.
Mad scientist Alain Vigneault's line-shuffling paid off early, as Sean Couturier dropped a pass back to Michael Raffl, who sniped Carey Price's stick side top shelf for the game's opening goal.
Phil Myers made it 2-0 late in the second period when Price was unable to field a bouncer that skipped right by him for an embarrassing own-goal off himself.
From there, Philly locked it down defensively. The orange and black gave up almost nothing in terms of scoring chances, turning the game into a 60-minute board battle to neutralize the Habs' speed advantage.
It may have been another ugly win, with the Flyers registering only 22 shots on goal and going 0-for-3 on the power play, but the 3-1 series lead is plenty beautiful.
