Quick history lesson: in the 1980s, Manuel Noriega was a Panamanian politician and military officer who was the de facto dictator ruler of Panama. It was during this time that banks were frozen in the country, many of the financial institutions became unreliable, and Alida's family fled and immigrated to the United States.

Fast forward to today: Alida has traveled to 38 countries so far, many of them for free, and loves sharing her travels with her husband and 3 kids.
