Mental health has recently emerged as a topic in the forefront that's been publicly neglected for years, specifically in the African American community. It has often been frowned upon and looked at as a sign of weakness if one admitted to struggling with his or her own mental health. Black men do indeed have a high rate of suicide but the public does not hear or talk about this. On the latest installment of the #BeHerd series, Tiana Caldwell, founder of the Journaling Group 'Write That Shit Down (WTSD)', discusses her group/initiative WTSD, her foundation Kiss Your Little Brothers (KYLB), the importance of journaling, and keeping a diary for your mental health, and many more insightful thoughts on how the African American community can battle the stigma of mental health and support our brothers and sisters.
