Is it a Learning Disorder or is it Learning Differently...what is that fine line which separates the two? We have different eye colour, hair colour and above all the way our brains function. It is unique to each one ...just like our fingerprint. This uniqueness manifests itself in our personality, our tastes our strengths and weaknesses . Sometimes those weaknesses start to manifest more than the strengths and then its termed as a disorder. Learning disorder is a general term for a neurological disorder that affects the way in which a child’s brain can receive, process, retain, and respond to information. A child with a learning disorder may have trouble learning and using certain skills, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, reasoning, and doing math,but any form of disorder is just one part of the child's entire being .The focus needs to be on the child's strengths and enumerable talents and skills that he/she possesses to create a holistic and happy life for the child.
