We live for God’s glory when we show up when He calls.
Key Verse:
Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Introduction:
We, like Joshua, must be willing to:
1. Assist where needed.
- 2 Corinthians 4:5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.
- Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
2. Arise when called.
- Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us? ”Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
- 1 Samuel 3:4-5 that the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, “Here I am!” So he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” And he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” And he went and lay down.
3. Accept what God says.
- Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
- Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
