The Mom Bod Series
Part 2: Joyful Movement
For many Mom’s, the terms “joy” and “exercise” don’t go together since our bodies are worn down, our time is spread too thin, and self-care is pushed to the back burner. Finding what movement feels like a celebration of your body and brings you joy can be very perplexing for Mom’s, so in this episode we offer tips on how to increase attunement with your body so you can find your stride. We also explore how to adjust your expectations depending on your phase of life or physical needs while identifying your wants and needs so you can carve out space to take care of yourself. We interview married couple and running coaches, Erik Stanley and Jacque Peppler, of “Trail Roots” about how becoming parents has challenged their lifestyle, business, and relationship. Jacque shares the difficulties Mom’s face with their expectations of themselves regarding their time, bodily changes, and types of movement they can participate in. Erik talks about the common partner response of “let’s just fix it,” and how he learned to listen to Jacque’s internal struggles to support her journey of making time for movement. This is a unique, thought-provoking interview that will touch your heart and hopefully leave you feeling less alone.
