It may have been a school bully or could even have been something a family member said. Typically I would withdraw myself form the situation or the person. At the same time, often as a child I would recover rather quickly from my hurt.

As adults we live our lives more seriously and as a result we take those situations or people more seriously - Hurt can last much longer.

In our conversation with Scott we unpacked not only the hurt that may result from our fellow believers, but we also explore the hurt that can accumulate in ministry. Yes, not only can those in the pews get hurt, but the pastor and other leaders can suffer too. Scott is a pastor and author of "The Cave, When Ministry Becomes Misery."
