We welcome out first guest, SirSpencer from Bowl After Bowl. This week we finally welcomed our first guest, Sir Spencer of Bowl After Bowl, and it felt like the right full-circle moment for the show. We talked about how his work shaped both of our paths into Podcasting 2.0, value for value, Bitcoin, and Nostr, and why long-form, community-driven podcasting still matters. A lot of the conversation centered on what makes these shows work in the first place: letting the inside jokes and culture build over time, making room for listeners to engage at their own pace, and treating value for value as more than a payment model — it’s really a way of building real communities around open tools. From there, we got into the bigger transition a lot of us have been living through: the fallout around Podcasting 2.0, the shift from Keysend toward LNURL and Lightning addresses, the frustration of waiting on leadership that never really arrived, and the opportunity that creates for the rest of us to just keep building. Spencer shared a lot about how he thinks about Nostr, Lightning, and open-source collaboration, and we also compared notes on the AI coding workflows we’re each using to ship faster. More than anything, this episode was about momentum: finding the people who are still here, getting aligned, and building the kind of future we actually want to use.Chad and Reeds Podcast: https://candr.space/Bowl After Bowl: https://www.bowlafterbowl.com/Bowls With Buds: https://bowlafterbowl.com/buds/Dave Jones (Bowl After Bowl profile): https://bowlafterbowl.com/buds/dave-jones/Local Bitcoiners: https://localbitcoiners.com/Small Group Scoop: https://smallgroupscoop.com/OnlyBoosts: https://onlyboosts.social/Fountain: https://fountain.fm/Podcast Guru: https://podcastguru.io/Alby: https://getalby.com/Helipad: https://github.com/Podcastindex-org/helipadPodcast Index (GitHub organization): https://github.com/Podcastindex-orgUngovernable Misfits: https://ungovernable.networkOpenCode: https://www.opencode-ai.com/en/docs.htmlClaude Code: https://support.claude.com/en/articles/14554922-claude-code-user-faqWindsurf: https://windsurf.me/PyCharm: https://www.jetbrains.com/pycharm/Tailscale: https://tailscale.com/Herdr: https://herdr.dev/Luxe: https://luxe.dev/
