Revelation might easily be the most mysterious and intriguing book of the Bible. To kick-start the book* Jesus directly addresses seven First-Century churches and, in a straight-shooting fashion, gives them a report card of how they are doing. To some churches – Jesus has nothing but praise. To others – nothing but correction. And yet others – a mix of “Here’s how you are knockin’ it out of the park!” and “Here’s where you need to get it in gear.”
For a Twenty-First Century reader or church – these seven messages have a sweet mix of symbolism, metaphor, historical context, and present-day application. “What would Jesus say to Momentum?” “What would Jesus say to me?” “What would he say to the His followers – collectively – in Greater Cleveland?”
