How many of you have found it difficult to stop overworking after you retire? Was it an adjustment? Did you feel guilty? Did you maybe find it difficult to slow down? Have you used meditation to help?
I just retired less than a week ago and I find myself diving deep into new projects immediately. I love what I'm creating, but I caught myself overworking. Forcing. The Universe has showed me that's not what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm trying to listen.
After a few days of stressing myself to the point that my body was tense and achy, I realized that I needed to focus more on just the moment. I had to get back to the being, and not so much of the doing.
Meditation has helped me so much over the past few years, and especially when I need guidance or a new perspective. In this episode I talk about the truth of my struggles adjusting to retirement, and all the ways I know I need to take my own advice to live in the moment, take time to rest, and enjoy the ride.
