In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were excited to interview Marko Kljajic. Marko is a PhD student studying comparative politics and international relations here at UW-Madison. His research and teaching interests focus on the political psychology of polarization and reconciliation in the aftermath of civil conflict. In particular, he is interested in the role that collective victimhood beliefs have on intergroup dynamics and political mobilization. Marko will be teaching a new seminar course this coming fall called, “Why We Fight: The Politics of Intergroup Conflict”. We asked Marko about his class as well as the role of polarization in conflict in the United States and around the world. We learned a lot, and hope you will too.
