Dr. Gillespie has a nonprofit that builds awareness about the importance of African-Americans getting on the Bone Marrow Registry.  According to the platform, there are huge complexities with African Americans and bone marrow that threaten our healthy on a regular basis.  African Americans have a tough time obtaining bone marrow.  A lot of this has to do with the fact that our HLA genetic markers are more complex than any other group of people in America.  In this video, Dr Gillespie explains how you can get on the registry as a potential bone marrow donor in order to save a life if someone needs you.
