“I am the Immaculate Conception.” With these words, the beautiful lady dressed in blue and white identified herself to 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous, in the grotto of Massabielle, France in 1858.
The many visions Bernadette had of the Blessed Mother contained promises of love and protection, with the recitation of the rosary.
The chapel built at the site of Bernadette of Mary’s visions, the Sanctuary at Our Lady of Lourdes, is today one of the major Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, as countless faithful each year come to its waters for healing and grace.
In the latest Talking Saints, Laurie Power and Pete Sanchez celebrate today’s Feast of Saint Bernadette Soubirous, the humble peasant girl lifted up to lead others to God, and recount her remarkable story.
Our hosts, as well, in this Year of Saint Joseph, continue the recitation of “The Litany of Saint Joseph,” which can be found here: https://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/prayers-and-devotions/litanies/litany-of-saint-joseph
