The story that unfolds in 2 Samuel 21 is a gruesome one (especially for Mother's Day!). Nevertheless, this story illustrates for us that sin always comes at a price and that God the just judge will ensure it is dealt with. We see a blood covenant broken and as a result, a blood atonement was required. Even in the sadness and brutality of this story, we see God's grace revealing sin and bringing beauty from the ashes.
