1. We finally know the opening day roster and there are certainly some good and bad to it. We talk about the surprises on the initial roster. We also go into Konnor Pilkington, Bryan Lavastida, and Steven Kwan being set to make their MLB debuts. We also dig into two of the weakest positions on this team catcher and first base.
2. We talk about the rest of the infield and why it is good to see so many young players getting their chance. People tend to forget that the centerpiece of the Francisco Lindor deal was Andres Gimenez. We talk about why he is an important player for the Guardians and why to not overlook him. We also talk about the Jose Ramirez extension situation and how his value won’t change between now and July if an extension is not reached.
3. We talk a little about the outfield. We talk about the rotation and the bullpen and how right now there is Emmanuel Clase in the pen and then everyone else. We also dig into the Emmanuel Clase extension. I talk about why the Guardians did it, they are keeping him in Cleveland for seven more years. In addition also why Clase decided to re-up even though for a majority of the contract he is likely to make less than Shaw makes this year.
