At first, I was going to take off for the holiday then the Cleveland Guardians tied it up late, so instead I settled in and proceeded to stream the game from the eighth inning through the end of the game. This podcast is taken from that chat. It is a free-flow conversation about the frustrations with the Guardians offense. The struggles we are seeing with our eyes and how the numbers reflect it as well. We get into the pitching woes, the players who have struggled the most, and what they might be able to do to make things better. The Cleveland Guardians are 2-8 in their last ten and had a point where they scored one run over 39 innings. It feels like now is the time to make some changes and adjustments and we just haven’t seen any change since June. We dive into the numbers and discuss why I don’t think it is due to a lineup that lacks power as much as it is due to a lineup that has spots of extremely poor production. The Guardians have given up a four-game lead in less than two weeks and I for one am having massive flashbacks to the 2004 season right now. The Wild Card feels out of reach as they are five games back, so this upcoming series with the Kansas City Royals takes on extra importance as the Guardians try and right a sinking season.
