The 19th Zurich Film Festival (Sept 28 – Oct 8) is paying tribute to German actress Diane Kruger for her outstanding career and great versatility, awarding her with the Golden Eye Award for her achievements. The actress is also presenting in Zurich, her most recent movie “Visions” by Yann Gozlan as an international premiere.
Speaking perfectly three languages, and, to quote ZFF, “one of the most in-demand actresses of our time” Diane Kruger has worked for such legendary directors as
Quentin Tarantino, Wolfgang Peterson, Robert Zemeckis, Fatih Akin, Neil Jordan, Agnieszka Holland, Benoît Jacquot and
Bille August.
In “Visions“, a passionate thriller in which she plays a pilot dealing with a lover from her past, she talks about how complicated love and relationship can be.
As the Golden Eye Award makes her look back at her career, she reveals how, when she was younger, she felt her emotions were too big for her and how cinema allowed her to feel strongly about things.
The actress also talks about her longstanding collaboration with German director
Fatih Akin and about the role models in her life, from her grandmother to important cinema figures such as Romy Schneider and Marlene Dietrich.
