Can I help people in my family change?
Everyone has problems, but it is really hard to live up close and watch people in your family struggle with a problem. You might know what they need to do to change, but they may not want to listen to what you have to say. Here are a couple of excerpts from the episode:
- You cannot change people. The desire to change someone usually causes us to do something that produces the opposite result.
- When people feel like we are trying to change them, the relationship begins to break down.
- Our relationship with people produces opportunity to impact.
- The best way to help others change is to honestly face the change that needs to happen in our own life.
