Having never seen any of the Equalizer franchise before we undertook the task of watching through the first two movies leading up to the third installment, and good news, that was unnecessary as there really isn't any throughline between any of the movies other than the character of Robert McCall and his ass kicking vigilante self, the movie as a whole is alright nothing really standout happens and the action is like John Wick light, as fans of Denzel Washington and the director of all three films Anthony Fuqua, we recommend at least watching the first film as it is the most original out of them all. With a potential 4 on the way and a prequel in the works its safe to say Denzel Washington will return as Robert McCall in the near future.
