A new year of Talking Saints kicks off with the patron of “Gospel Magic,” Saint John Bosco.
This 19th century Italian priest was known for his “creative evangelization” in reaching out to young boys on the margins of society. In establishing the Society of Saint Francis de Sales, he provided a home, fellowship, and the gift of the faith to hundreds of these disaffected youth.
Hosts Laurie Power and Pete Sanchez share the life and witness of this Patron Saint of schoolchildren and magicians, and how we can all employ “creative evangelization” today, to spread the Gospel in society.
As well, with Pope Francis recently declaring the “Year of Saint Joseph” until December 8, our hosts explain what this means, and begin a new Talking Saints tradition with the recitation of the “Litany of Saint Joseph,” which can be found here: https://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/prayers-and-devotions/litanies/litany-of-saint-joseph
