“It is not the actual physical exertion that counts towards one’s progress, nor the nature of the task, but by the spirit of faith with which it is undertaken.”
Today the Catholic Church remembers the example of Saint Francis Xavier, prolific missionary and one of the first members of the Society of Jesus. On this his feast day, Talking Saints’ Laurie and Pete reflect on the miles he traveled, his “creative evangelization,” and his fearless faith in following God’s call.
The hosts also conclude this Year of Saint Joseph with the final Litany to the head of the Holy Family, which can be found at https://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/prayers-and-devotions/litanies/litany-of-saint-joseph
Saint Francis Xavier, Patron of Missionaries, pray for us!
