"I am Dr. Alexis Hugelmeyer, but my friends and patients call me Dr. Lex. After ten years of practicing traditional medicine, I am taking your health and wellness into the future!
A board-certified Family Physician by training, I spent four years in undergrad at Villanova University, four years in medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and three years in residency at Long Beach Medical Center. I have spent most of my twelve-year career in hospital medicine outpatient wellness practice. I have been active in community health education via public speaking, writing and media contributions since I was a medical student in 2001.
When I relocated from NY to NC this past summer, I transitioned my wellness practice into an online health education practice, DrLexRx. In my free time, I love exploring our new town of Chapel Hill, NC with my husband Michael and our three adventurous children Isabella, Lance & Lucia. Photography is my expressive art form.
