A cult figure of Mexico’s indie underground, Dani Shivers is best known for melding spooky, horror film aesthetics with hazy Casio synths to surprisingly catchy effect. Her first album, 2013’s “Jynx,” is a Latin goth landmark and she has since released a string of singles and EPs, with a new album expected to drop before the end of the year.
Our conversation with Dani Shivers covers a lot of ground, ranging from childhood ghost stories, to her time at the Redbull Music Academy, her current stint at veterinary school and an upcoming performance at Mexicali's Celsius Festival, this September. Dani will also be performing this Saturday July 28th at Foro Centro de Salud in Mexico City, so if you are in the area, make sure to come out and support this beautiful ghoul.
