1. It is 24 hours later, which makes it the perfect time now that we have rested and refreshed to talk about game one and our final thoughts and feelings on the loss for the Cleveland Guardians against the New York Yankees in round one of the ALDS. We focus on the lack of offense in the early going and what is potentially holding this team back. While they advanced in a sweep let’s be honest the offense has been largely missing this postseason.
2. In honor of Nestor Cortes, I have some fun with Justin. Nestor Cortes is on his third time with the Yankees and is already the third-best 36th-round pick in MLB history. Can you figure out who the top two are? Can Justin? We also talk about the Guardians own top 36th-rounder. Along with the high number of former Cleveland players taken in the round who didn’t sign. We focus on what has changed for Cortes to take him from journeyman to Ace.
3. As it looks more and more likely that the Thursday game could be rained out. We debate if a rainout helps or hurts the Guardians. We get into starters, bullpen, and lineups. We then deep dive on Nestor Cortes some more trying to find out how a guy whose most similar 2022 pitcher by velocity and pitch movement is Kirk McCarty is someone a potential Cy Young Candidate. We talk lineups and wonder if there will be any changes for the typical left-handed lineup that we saw through out the year.
