By Dan Taylor in Lubbock, TX - June 10, 2023 - 1 Corinthians chapter 13 is a remarkable chapter, written by Paul. In it, we see the type of love a Christian must show everyone: the Kind of love Jesus Christ is. As we look at verse 7 we see that love "bears all things, believes all thins, hopes all things, endures all things". We see four things: first, agape covers the sins of the one it loves; second, agapes believes the best as long as that is possible; third, agape hopes when it cannot believe; and fourth, agape endures when even hope is gone.
1 Corinthians 13 is about the love of God, not the love of man. I cannot offer you a fool proof plan to solve life's problems. If it is true that into each life some rain must fall, then some of us are getting a deluge right now. I don't know when the rain will end. But it doesn't have to destroy our lives. When the love of God is our foundation, the rains can come, the winds can blow, the river can rise to the threshold, but our house will stand firm because it is built on the rock which cannot be shaken.
