On this very special episode of Songmess, our beloved pod babe Beverly Bryan is doing some serious on-the-ground reporting. Boricua punk band Re-Animadores joins us for a guerrilla style street interview where they discuss the devastating aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and María, sharing stories of limited communication with family members, personal losses, and their fears of long term damage to Puerto Rico's infrastructure.
Melvin, Victor, Cristian and Ahmed embody the laid back and energetic spirit of Puerto Rican punk while mincing no words on the island's current situation. On top of laughs and searing criticism of mainland leaderships's weak relief efforts, we're also playing excellent cuts from the band’s Me Das Asco album. Listen to our interview now and discover these amazing punks.
Please be advised, Puerto Rico is far from out of the woods so your donations and any posible volunteer work can still make a huge difference.
