Our first Feather 'bones' board prototype is ready for testing! This is RP2040 with 8MB Flash, QT, USB C, Lipoly and the standard Feather pinout ... and at the other end a DVI connector that will work with any HDMI monitor or 'sink'! We tested that we can detect and read the sink's EDID EEPROM, the HPD (hot-plug detect) pin goes high when connected, and that we can generate both 640x480 and 800x480. Those are generated in the PicoDVI Arduino library (https://github.com/adafruit/PicoDVI) we have as pixel-doubled 320x240 or 400x240 so we have a full framebuffer in RAM that we can instantly display on output. It's basically like having an Adafruit GFX display but instead of to an OLED or TFT its a full color HDMI monitor! Kudos to PaintYourDragon for the wrangling, this works beautifully and easily with automatic overclocking. What would you want to display on an HDMI monitor using an RP2040 chip?
