Alright Rule Lawyers, You're Going To Love & Hate This. This time around we're diving into a few spells and class abilities in a segment we like to call D&D Court. We each present a case for why a spell or ability should be ruled a certain way (or multiple ways in the case of shape water) and then the rest of us judge accordingly. This is a heavy RAW vs. RAI episode and we know there are going to be some controversy, so bring it on! As always, it is up to your DM to make the final determination on what an ability or spell does, so make sure you check with them to see what they rule as legal or not.
