Ep. 11: Shawntia Jones - The Importance of Protecting Your Life and Brand

Today on the Friends in Beauty Podcast we welcome Shawntia Jones, The CEO of Promise Quest Sisters. When Shawntia started her business in 2018, she came across individuals using her slogans and designs and she couldn't legally do anything about it. At that moment she realized she did not own her brand! So, she decided to do her own research to trademark and protect her brand. 

Shawntia currently has 4 federally registered trademarks and 3 pending trademarks and wanted to let other business owners know if she can do it, so can YOU. In June 2020 she launched Protect Your Brand LLC which is a third party document filing service which files trademark applications directly to the USPTO. She also created the Do It Yourself Trademark Course for small business owners who want to learn more about the trademark process and she helps people protect their legacy with life insurance products. 

In this episode we talked about the importance of protecting your life and brand, creating generational wealth, the process for filing a trademark and what to do if someone infringes on your trademark, the different brand elements that can be trademarked, and also how you can go about protecting your life and brand with Shawntia's help.
