Key Takeaways

  • Mather’s Wellness Model focuses on three drivers: autonomy, affiliation, and achievement. The culture supports residents to be independent and engaged in a sense of community for as long as possible
  • Forward thinking senior living communities are shifting the focus from “sick care” to preventative care.
  • There is a trend toward all-inclusive, resort style flat fee and credit or spend-down models that can shift wellness programming from a loss leader to a revenue center.
