Past Year Review - Forget New Year's Resolutions and Conduct a 'Past Year Review' Instead

Procrastination  (Wikipedia)

"Procrastination is the action of delaying or postponing something.

The word has origin from the Latin procrastinatus, which itself evolved from the prefix pro-, meaning "forward," and crastinus, meaning "of tomorrow."

It could be further stated as a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences."

"Habitual or intentional"

So...how did this tie into self sabotage?

From the article: https://www.healthline.com/health/self-sabotage#signs

Procrastination

Have you ever found yourself stalled or stuck when faced with an important task? You’re far from alone in this.

You’ve prepared, done all your research, and sat down to get started, only to find you just can’t begin.

Your motivation has completely disappeared.

So you avoid the task by cleaning out the refrigerator, organizing your junk drawer, or starting a movie marathon.

Procrastination can happen for no apparent reason, but it typically has an underlying cause, such as:

  • feeling overwhelmed by what you need to do
  • trouble managing time
  • doubting your ability or skills

Goals
Since beginning use of the Best Self Journal in late 2018, return to goal mindset

I now choose to focus on maintaining the best attitude I can

I will continue to give 110% at the day job despite my "feelings"

Originally - I had developed 7 categories for my own goals (tasks) by 2017/2018 via Nozbe

  1. Personal
  2. Davis Tree Farm (Career)
  3. Side Hustle / DLS
  4. Health
  5. Finances
  6. York Meadow Farm
  7. DLS Office / Home (which was currently under construction at that time)

My 3 goals in Best Self were originally based on Gary Collins

3 Legged Stool

  • Health
  • Wealth
  • Purpose

New Version of Best Self Journal has "bench marks"

  • Health
  • Finances
  • Work / Career
  • Relationships
  • Personal Growth
  • Mindfulness

I continue to fine tune my goal mindset

Recently saw a tweet from EntreLeadership about Zig Ziglar's categories:

  1. Spiritual
  2. Family
  3. Physical
  4. Financial
  5. Career
  6. Social
  7. Intellectual

Finally found Dan Miller Goal Categories:

  1. Financial
  2. Physical
  3. Personal Development
  4. Family
  5. Spiritual
  6. Social
  7. Career

At this time, I am working on goals via Dan Miller's outline

Following them in that order also

Fall down 7 times stand up 8

Just keep moving

You can do it
