Governor Newsom also said he will sign a bill by State Senator Scott Wiener of San Francisco that will require California’s largest corporations to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions, as he pushes for more corporate accountability on climate change.
The governor has been focusing on climate and global warming all week at a series of international meetings in New York and at the United Nations, enlisting other states to follow California’s lead on the issue, and putting companies that produce fossil fuels on the defensive.
