High school sports being pushed to spring and the impact on college athletics

On Monday, July 20th the California Interscholastic Federation, which oversees high school sports in the state of California, announced a change in their sports calendar and that sports will not be played until 2021 within the state at the high school level. This means high school football will be played as late as mid-April of 2021. How does this impact the recruitment of prospects within the state of California and the college programs recruiting them? Could we see this idea spread across the country for all other states' high school sports? Some football prospects in the 2021 class from the state of California are already announcing if they'll play football in the spring in high school, or enroll early at their college choice instead. Could we see athletes in college follow high school athletes and sit out the upcoming 2021 season if it is also played in the spring?
