Ontario Cold Cases - The Podcast S2-EP9 Coming this Sunday March 3, Marianne Schuett

Marianne Schuett had just a five minute walk from the school to her home at 2291 Kilbride Street in Burlington on Thursday, April 27, 1967.

Witnesses came forward to say that they had seen her talking to a man in a dark-model European vehicle. 

Marianne hasn't been seen again.

Marie Woods, a 31-year-old single mother of a six-year-old daughter, vanished on September 21st, 1981. 

Her Subaru station wagon was found abandoned on Oct. 5th at the Scarborough Town Centre.

Sometime around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28th, 1987, 21-year-old receptionist Margaret McWilliam was raped and strangled to death while out for an evening jog in Warden Woods park in the Scarborough section of Toronto. 

Her body was found in the northeast sector of the park not far from subway tracks.

On March 9, 1959, Patricia Lupton, 12, answered a babysitting ad posted on the bulletin board of a Scarborough A&P store.

And within an hour of leaving home to meet her prospective employer, she was dead.

Her body was discovered at a construction site for one of the numerous housing developments springing up around the booming city — near McCowan and Ellesmere Rds.

On September 15, 1988, 80-year-old Thera Dieleman was dropped off at home.

The next day, Thera’s neighbour Ken Rusnell called to see how she was doing.

After getting no answer, Rusnell entered the home and found Thera dead on the floor. 

An autopsy later determined Thera had been beaten and strangled to death.

Thera’s killer has yet to be brought to justice.

Karen Anne Woodcock, 33, was last seen around 4:30 a.m. on July 1, 1973, in the area of Parkhill Road and Reid Street in Peterborough.

Police say later that morning her body was discovered along a stretch of Villiers Line in Otonabee Township.
