Everyone’s birth story is different. Because of movies or tv or your mom or whatever, I think a lot of us carry expectations into the experience. And these preconceived notions are not guarantees; they aren’t necessarily how things are going to go. Probably the best thing you can do, really with anything, is have a general idea of how you want it to go, but accept that to an extent what will be will be.
