Dr. Minako Abe has dual board certifications from the United States in Emergency Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine.
She has had 15 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine in New York and New Jersey. She worked as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Albert Einstein Medical University, and as an associate professor at Columbia University School of Medicine. In 2013 she won the Physician of the Year award at the Ocean Medical Center in New Jersey.
While treating patients in the Emergency room, she found that nearly 80% of the conditions and illnesses were related to unhealthy lifestyle choices. Chronic illnesses such as obesity, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and even 30-50% of cancers are preventable, and as such, developed a strong interest in Lifestyle Medicine, particularly in relation to the field of immunology and oncology.
Since 2014, she has worked with the Hakushin Koseikai Medical Foundation and as a director of the International Society for Personalized Medicine. She is the vice-president of the Tokyo Cancer Clinic and is actively engaged in research and activities to further the fields of Lifestyle, Cellular Immunotherapy, and Regenerative Medicine.
Her passion project is to help cancer patients thrive and not just survive through coaching in Lifestyle and Mindset.
