Episode 39 of the Everyman Movie Review!
I grew up in the same area as Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. They made up a BIG part of our history lessons in Elementary School. Maybe that's why I didn't rush out to see another rendition of the story I'd heard so many times. But, Cynthia Erivo was nominated for an Oscar and I really wanted to see all the Oscar contenders - and it was available on a 5-hour transcontinental flight (and I wasn't going anywhere) I've been intrigued, so I figured I would check it out.

The Everyman Movie Review is a different kind of movie commentary - it's not about the art of movie-making, but rather about the enjoyment and entertainment of the film itself. It's not about me or my opinion, it's about the movie - does it deliver on what it promises?
