How the Medical Community Can Be the Trusted Voice On Masks, Vaccines and COVID-19
In this week's episode, we're joined by Dr. Richard Pan, a pediatrician and Democratic State Senator, representing Sacramento, Calif. He chairs the California Senate Committee on Health and discusses how the medical community can promote clear messaging about the pandemic and how they have an opportunity to be the trusted voice to patients and their communities.
Recently Dr. Pan partnered with Dr. Bill Frist, former Republican Senate majority leader and Max G. Bronstein, founder of the Journal of Science Policy & Governance, for a STAT article (https://bit.ly/2FuP9fR) to encourage clinicians to start having conversations with their patients now to discuss the potential benefits and risks of a COVID-19 vaccine before one becomes publicly available to start driving adoption of community immunity.
