My guest Laura Warburton, discusses the loss of her 16 year old daughter Hannah to suicide. Laura discusses how concussions, left lasting damage to Hannah's brain, that led to her suicide. Laura felt the desire to bring about some positive changes after Hannah's death, and that is exactly what she has done, with starting the non-profit called Live Hannah's Hope. She has been active at the State Capitol, pushing through bills like, Hannah's Bill, which required suicides crisis lines in the State be answered 24/7 and the SafeUT app which has saved countless lives. These bills would have never happened had it not been for this amazing family, and Hannah's story. Laura also pushed through a bill that required an autopsy for all suicides, and required reporting. This will advance our suicide prevention efforts in the State. Our State owes so much to Laura for taking this tragedy and working to make things in suicide prevention better in Utah.
