Episode 258: Sonny Dalesandro - Chairman of the Tulsa Athletic & Former Professional Soccer Player - Part 1

On this episode, Derek sits with Sonny Dalesandro.  Sonny is a former professional soccer player and is the Chairman and Co-Owner of the Tulsa Athletic Football Club.  Sonny will be discussing how he got into professional soccer, his successful rookie of the year season, the highs and lows of his professional career and what led him to end his career.  

We will then discuss the Founding of Tulsa Athletic, the struggles with getting the club up and running, the original Tulsa Driller Stadium and the controversy surrounding the eviction, the National Anthem controversy, the legendary 1-0 victory over FC Tulsa and then we discuss the elephant in the room, the NPSL and their petty war against the club.  This is a 2 part interview with the next half of this interview dropping on May 30th, 2024.  It was also taped before the NPSL suspended the Tulsa Athletic for the 2024 season as a result of the lawsuit that will be discussed.
