In the summer of 1968, the city of Newcastle is tormented by a terrible event: two little boys, Martin Brown and Brian Howe, are found strangled to death in a vacant lot a few weeks apart. When the identity of the murderer, or rather the murderess, is finally revealed, a wave of shock sweeps through the nation. The killer's name is Mary Bell, she is just eleven years old and has the face of an angel.
